My Philosophy

Before I post anything else, I'd like to give you a chance to know a little about me. I'm an atheist and don't believe in anything "supernatural" or scientifically unexplainable. I believe that free will is an illusion and that human actions are for the most part determined by cause and effect (although, I believe at some level there is indeterminacy acting on us as well). And as a believer in determinism (for lack of a better term) I don't believe in "right" or "wrong." A world where free will doesn't exist allows no room for right or wrong. I may use these terms when discussing things on this blog, but you should know that I'm simply stating my opinion. The sentence, "This is the right thing to do," is synonymous with "This is the thing I'd like to happen."Along with being a godless  heathen, and someone who rejects free will, I'm fairly "left" leaning. Occasionally I'll post some political stuff on this blog, and I'm sure you'll find out soon enough what side of the aisle I fall on. I plan on elaborating on many of these ideas, such as free will, morality, and atheism, in future posts, but for the time being this'll do.

  8. I think you misunderstand. Maybe I wasn't clear. I believe that when a person says "I believe this is the right thing to do" what that means in reality is "this is the thing I want to do." When a person says "this is the thing i want to do" it doesn't necessarily mean that they think it is the right thing though. Also, I would agree that "fucking the shit out of a bunch of underage bitches" is never the right thing to do, but I also believe it is never the wrong thing to do. (I'll go into this more on a future post). Thanks for the comment. Also, what makes fucking underage girls wrong? If you said "cause it causes them pain" then ask yourself why underage girls feeling pain is wrong and so on. You will find that it is hard to reach a solid foundation for any absolute moral or ethical system.

  12. I tried being an atheist, and while I'm certainly not a christian, I can't help but think there is something beyond straight atoms and whatnot. I don't believe in a conscious god, one that understands and answers our questions. I believe in some other power. Thats all. I look forward to your blog.
